CS Sketchy Challenge Catch Up!

The summer has kept us busy getting settled into
full time living in Yellowknife and finishing construction on our Tiny Cabin...
which had an expansion last weekend which I will save for another post.

I managed to squeeze in some time to scrapbook last night and
completed these two layouts using the
Sketchy Challenge at Creative Scrapbooker

Using the June Sketch and a June photo!

The Fish Tale
One evening back in June, our two VP's were up for meetings
in YK and we decided to take them to the cabin for dinner.
Kara brought her son, 5 year old Nathaniel.
After dinner Sean decided to do a little fishing
while us ladies talked shop and did the dishes.
on the second cast Nathaniel landed a fish,
Sean decided to video tape his struggle,
I loved listening to the coaching and encouragement,
and it was so cute how Nathaniel kept telling Sean
he was to little and needed Sean to help him because
it was too hard to reel the big fish in.
Luckily we heard Sean call us ladies
and we got to the shore in time to take a few photos.
It was the first time Nathaniel caught his own fish!

These photo were sitting on the "Pile to Scrap"
for quite some time, had papers and embellishments
already chosen so it came together quite quickly
with the July Sketch.

Hopefully I will find another night soon to catch up
on the August and September CS Sketchy Challenge!

August Sketches with Stuck?! Sketches

Managed to squeeze in a Saturday Evening/Sunday Morning of
Scrapbooking on the boardroom table at the office!
I made a big mess pulling out all my stash to make these pages
but it finally felt good to get some scrappy time, it was just too short.

Here are my layouts
Based on the August 1st Challenge

This one came together easily with a
photo that should have been scrapbooked long ago!

I'm really please with both of them and hope I don't have to
wait this long to scrapbook again!

Creative Scrapbooker 2017 Fall Issue

What a beautiful cover the Fall 2017 Issue has.... Gotta love the plaid!
I am so blessed to be a part of the magazine,
I had two layouts selected for this issue!

This one was a special fishing trip that Sean did with the boys last September.
The fishing is Spectacular - as is the Aurora in September!

On the Move

Well this is going to be a challenging next two years for my scrapbooking passion,
I will be without a creative spot to retreat too.
Some significant changes with Sean's business,
we have sold our home & office in Edmonton...
With plans to build our retirement dream home in the mountains one day...
for now, we will be living up north full time and will simplify the business back to one office in Yellowknife. Some bonuses for us will be, not looking after two homes & offices... just a small condo and a cozy tiny cabin on the lake.
Life should be a little less busy? And simpler we hope.
I have put more then 2/3 of my scrapbooking studio into long term,
unaccessible storage,
a small pile in storage with a vehicle in Edmonton
so I can scrapbook on the go when visiting friends and family
as well as a small amount basics in Yellowknife.
It will be different to scrapbook for an afternoon at the kitchen table instead of
photos, paper and embellishments out on my pile to scrap,
several embellishments and tools
waiting for an evening or weekend to cocoon!

Here is my first dose of scrappy time, I spent a few days at my parents farm
and took over the kitchen table while I visited with them for a few days!
Here are a few of my favourites,

April 1 Inspiration with Stuck?! Sketches

I enjoyed spending April Fools Day in the studio going thru the "pile to scrap". The April 1 Stuck?! sketch was released and these photos jumped off the pile and the layout came together quickly. I used an old Sandylion collection that I have had in my stash for about 10 years... felt good to use some of that paper up. I again also used my favourite EK Success Punch, its funny how I never get tired of putting arrows on my pages. I also saved the manufactures tags off of my new Icebreaker Thermals that Sean got me for Christmas - they were a fun addition to the page. I also placed my first order recently with Cuts2luv for some unique badges... this was my first layout using them :)

3 Evening Pages!

I have been able to spend 3 evenings in a row in my studio!
A guilty pleasure for sure and getting 3 layouts done in a week a scrappy achievement!

Inspired by Stuck?! Sketches March 15th Sketch
I got these photos of Liam's last regular season home game scrapbooked.

I have spent a lot of time at the arena this season with the camera
Liam and his teammates have all got some great action shots for their photo albums.

These two layouts have been on my "Pile to Scrap" and came together quite quickly,
one for the 2015 album and one for the 2016,
I certainly was in a roughing up the edges mode those two nights!

Needed some "Therapy"

Therapy comes in so many forms! For me I needed a day in my studio to just unwind. I didn't get a lot of scrapbooking done on Family Day, but sometimes just tidying up my space and going thru my stash is the best therapy. Because I took the time to do a little cleaning, adding photos to my "pile to scrap" and peeking into some piles of paper that I haven't seen in awhile, it often inspires a quick page or two.

I pulled out some old Imaginations and Sandylion Papers along with some sketch inspiration from Stuck?! Sketches and this layout came together very quickly!
