Its A Sketchy Challenge - CS Feb 2015 Sketch

Spent the weekend at war with a cold,
a low energy weekend but escaped to the loft for a creative hour or two each day.

Really loved the CS Sketch Challenge this month - in fact so much that I made two layouts with it!

One recent photo of my step-daughter Lena - she is a super talented Selfie picture taker!
And my favourite 3 photos off the pile of Liam last hockey season, I better develop some of the ones from this season and enter those into the pile waiting to hit a page!

Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine - Fall 2014 Edition

Very THANKFUL to say that I have been published in each Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine for three years! The CS selection team has chosen many of my pages that are about my husband Sean or of Sean's photos, but in this issue Jackie requested one of my husbands photos.

This is his first time contributing to the magazine (other then taking great photos for me to scrapbook) and is the back cover CS photo feature for "In the End".
It's a special photo that Sean sent to Sue at Le Chanceux Winery last thanksgiving which she also used to wish her FB followers a Happy US Thanksgiving, and Le Chanceaux's Mantra "may you always count your blessings and know how lucky you are" sums it all up today...

Shimelle Inspires me!

I have been in love with the Glitter Girl Video Series over at Twopeasinabucket.com, which of course led me to www.shimelle.com.

Shimelle has a series of blog posts on page Starting Points, I finally decided to get these photos of our New Years Getaway to Tofino scrapbooked as they were to be my first pages in my 2012 Album..... and I need to start a 2013 Album!

Here are the blog posts that inspired me to get these pages completed!

Scrapbook Starting Points - subtle patterned backgrounds

Scrapbooking Starting Points - stormy-new-zealand-seas/
you can see that this one was totally the inspiration to get these photos scrapbooked!

Thanks Shimelle - I love your blog and video series the Adventures of Glitter Girl!

Love working with Sketches

I have had a chance to play a little this week in the evenings. I picked out a few sketches from several sites that I follow/like on Facebook, one I worked on this week, the others I pulled papers and photos and placed them on my "ready to scrap" pile.

Here are the ones that I did get a chance to complete this week with lots of leftovers and pieces from my Cocoa Daisy kits.

Feb Sketch with Cocoa Daisy

I also finally worked on 2 other sketches that I have had set aside on the "ready to scrap" pile for quite sometime....

Fall Double the Fun Sketch with Canadian Scrapbooker

A sketch and page that I kept from the Aug/Sept 2009 Issue of Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine, I still miss that they don't do printed issues...

It was a good week for scrappy getaways during the evening in the loft!

Its been awhile!

Its been awhile since I enjoyed some downtime in the loft. I have various unfinished projects laying around waiting for me to finish them, and somehow I have lost my Mojo with those. My 2012 December Daily is laying in a big pile on the table with all the remaining photos calling to me, I stopped at Dec 19th... so 11 days to finish but not this weekend. I decided to develop a new photo from just last Sunday and also felt like working with some photos from last new years trip to Tofino.

I have been enjoying the "Two Peas in a Bucket" video series 213 in 2013. I was immediately draw to the video on Jan 14th. 213-in-2013-love-her

I decided to use this photo that I took with my phone at dinner last Sunday. I love the way it turned out!

That was my Friday night layout that I completed, my Saturday morning always includes surfing my favorite scrapbooking sites for inspiration. This morning as I was enjoying the chatter at Cocoa Daisy
I noticed that one of the daisies invited everyone to checkout a new challenge blog. Shop Your Stash Challenge Blog

The challenge was to:
Use the LPS Sketch #1
use an unused/unopened stamp,
 a technique that scares you,
2 or more accent pieces that you have been hoarding.

Here's mine!

I used an old BG paper from my Oct 2011 Cocoa Daisy kit.
A very "hoarded" piece of flocked SU paper
Prima - "Say it in Crystals" rhinestones that I think I've had for at least 6 or 7 years
as well as some dollar store transparencies that are just as old!
Used that eye dropper with some Prima mist... scary!

I used an unopened stamp in the "Love Pizza Nights" LO but no room left for stamping on this LO.

A weekend of Cocoa Daisy Lifts and Inspiration

I was lucky enough to start off my week by chatting with one of the Design Team Members about a challenge that needed a little inspiration boost. Lisa posted the challenge with Cocoa Daisy and not only used my idea but used one of my layouts that I made during the Cocoa Daisy Midway Fall Crop.

Later in the week Lisa also posted the Fall "Lift me Up" challenge and had so many daisies wanting to play this time she made teams... and the first team to complete wins. Well those of you who know me know how much I like a good race! I was selected to go first for team Pink, I was handed my assignment and started Team Pink hot off the line.... we are currently still in the lead :)
I cant post my layout this week but will when its posted on the Cocoa Daisy site.

That jumpstarted a good week of scrapbooking for me, did the "Lift me Up" LO Thursday night, then worked on the Cocoa Daisy November Sketch Challenge Friday night. This will be a framed gift for my friend Danine who made me, my 2 sisters and mom Vintage Aprons out of my Great Grandmothers  linens.

I managed to also spend some time Saturday night and Sunday in the loft :) These were inspired by all the great layouts in the Cocoa Daisy gallery right now!
